Sorø, 2022, at “Deep dive” . 20 sculptures in varying sizes installed with seven blue stones. Concrete, stone, sand, gravel and soil.
The work examines our relationship with the landscape, nature, the monster and the mother. How foreign and how familiar the landscape, nature and the body can feel in different situations throughout life.
Press release, June 2022
Six visual artists have joined forces to organize an exhibition in a former gravel pit in Sorø. The participating artists, who are all connected to the immediate area around Sorø, exhibit sculptural works that, in their own way, enter into dialogue with the gravel pit's changed landscape. Stone, soil and gravel form part of the raw material of the works, and the exhibition thereby unfolds completely new connections and connections between art, material and nature.
The exhibition offers, among other things, an oversized pearl necklace in ceramics that has been dragged through the landscape and has left rough furrows in the ground, an abstract giant fossil in carved marble that hides under the earth's overburden, as well as sleeping pills, embedded in tons of stone.
